hay all yes i am a new to bad web i would love to have some one with some xp with the ccs rule book can see if i am reading this right Engine modifications include the following:
(1.) Pistons which are no larger than 1mm over stock size may be
used but must be same compression ratio as the OEM piston.
(2.) Original equipment cylinders must be used.
(3.) Original equipment head, valves, and cams must remain as
produced, with the exception of machining the gasket surface of
the cylinder head.
(4.) Original equipment cases, crankshaft, and connecting rods must
remain as produced.
so the way i see it i can change the cc of the head ,rockers, lifters, valve springs
pistons
it looks cut and dry but i would be pist do all the Engine modifications and not be
with in the rules thanks

watch out as a lot of organizations have a disclaimer in there super sport rules that state something to the effect that if the rulebook does not specifically state a component can be changed, then it must remain stock/as produced

what Leah/Wes said.
In CCS, a air cooled, push rod twin, in SOME classes can have unlimited mods, while in Super Sport, you can't even modify the airbox. So it depends on what classes you plan on running.

(6.12)ccs rulebook SUPERSTOCK was the class that i was thinking about it looks to be the the way to start out i know buell doesnt pay for that class but you dont have to dump a lot of money at the bike right away to be competive.i may be wrong
THUNDERBIKE bike looks good to but i have not made up my mind. the team will just be me and a friend his bike will not work in SUPERSTOCK unless we put non-worked heads back on

run it and wait to get protested, keep quiet. he and you will probably be the other 2 in the class. the classes are light with Buells here in the SE with CCS and WERA.
good luck,
tim

Race Thunderbike and Supertwins on your lightly modified XB. The money is great, and rider ability and suspension mean more than horsepower .

That makes a lot of sense Rick. At first we'd like to start out running one or two classes. My bike has slightly worked heads so I can't legally run Super Stock. I'm sure I could run it and just forfeit if I made a podium (Two of the three tracks are very tight tracks) but if I we can get contingency money in the Thunderbike and Supertwins I'm sure we'll just choose those.

To be honest I'm thinking that the SS class is most likely the axe murderer 600 class? I'm not sure I want to race with those guys in any case. I've done a trackday down there and from what I could tell a stock XB should be competitive with the right rider against the SS 600s because it's so tight, but I'd rather be in a class with fewer riders anyway.

Almost all of the 600cc bikes will be in the Middleweight classes in CCS. I dought that you'll ever race with them unless you want to run in those classes instead of the Lightweight classes.
