Season 2007 - Ilmor planning race return
Eurosport - Mon, 04 Jun 17:45:00 2007
Season 2007 - Ilmor boss Mario Illien is still hopeful that his team will return to Moto GP this season, despite them having not raced since the season-opener in Qatar.

Illien withdrew his team from the championship just days before the Spanish Grand Prix in March, citing a lack of sponsorship money as the reason for not being able to develop their bike but insisted that he is still focusing on plans to return.

"We're still working very hard on the development of the bike and securing sponsorship for the team," said Illien.

"We have built up a huge fan base since we launched last year in Estoril and the support from the public since we announced our plans to temporarily suspend racing has been phenomenal.

"We're still very focused on racing and we want to be back out on track as soon as possible."

Should Ilmor make it back to the Moto GP paddock, riders Jeremy McWilliams and Andrew Pitt are expected to return to the line-up, with McWilliams confirmed to ride the machine at the Goodwood festival of Speed.
