I never paid much attention to racing before the XBRR came out. In fact, the first race that I really watched was the Daytona 200 where it debuted. I rode down and watched the race in person.

Since then I've watched a couple of FX races on TV. I have to tell you that watching on TV is nothing like being there in person.

If you've never been to an actual race and you have any interest at all, go. It is 100 times better than anything you'll see on TV.

TV doesn't do it justice, you are right. But I always record the AMA races I attend so I can watch them when I get home to fill in the blanks. TV coverage gets the stuff I missed on the side of the track where I wasn't.

The bikes don't look like they are going nearly as fast as they are in person, partly because of the long telephoto lens which compresses the foreground and background together. Then the cameras follow so tight on the riders that you loose perspective of the background going by, which gives you the sensation of movement.

You also only get the see the lead bikes on TV. I forget what place McWilliams was running at Daytona. I think it was about 14th. It was fun to watch him battle with the guy running 13th for position. You would never see that battle on TV.

I am much like Jlance... Never had much interest in motorcycle racing... But then came the XBRR!!! I went to the Daytona 200 just to see the XBRR in action. Had a blast!!! Can't wait to get to some more races to see the XBRR in action!
