Chadhargis, Jordan may have a chance if this prediction comes true.

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2006/Jun/e/n060604b.htm

M4 Emgo Suzuki is not a factory team and yet they fair pretty well every race. I think most of depends on how serious you are about racing and what kind of team you have in place.

PdP: You've got mail. I accidentally hit the send button before I was done, so I hope it comes across OK. Ping me back if you want to discuss.

Thanks.

Look, even I was at Daytona 200, pissing and moaning about those G** D*** Harleys breaking again. I am sure it could have offended the BUELLIE t-shirts nearby, and I rode there on my XBS. The difference is I still am hopeful for a good performance. The Japanese manufacturers have just gotten boring. It's like they decide in a boardroom one day who is going to have the winning season. Honda this year, Yamaha next, Honda, Honda, Suzuki, Suzuki, Suzuki, maybe a Kawasaki, but only a distinct maybe. I liked hearing the Ducatis, but they too seem to have floundered. The best racing I see right now is between Mladin and his teammate, Ben Spies, on exact same Suzuki machinery. That's a little boring. I loved when Rossi gave the heave-ho to KING Honda and came back and beat them on the "inferior" Yamaha. Riders do make that big a difference.
But why come to a BUELL site just talking trash without any constructive criticism, that's what I don't understand. I guess everyone has fun a different way. But this is a shoestring of a budget effort compared to any of the big 4, it could shake the foundations of their corporate world. They could lose some market share. We love our big twins over here apparently. They ( post AMF HD) completely revived an industry on the verge of destruction, basically selling heavy cruisers. The japanese just can't figure that one out. But they all make a heavy cruiser now, don't they? I just don't get the sense that the japanese corporate offices are staffed with motorcycle enthusiasts, HD/BUELL seems to be, maybe I'm wrong, who knows that answer?

"Michael Jordan Motorsports is in the middle of their third year of racing and the second as a Suzuki factory-support team."

Didn't know that MJ was a factory team too. You learn something every day. So, why aren't his riders finishing well? I know Jason Pridmore can ride.

I think to make AMA racing fair, some NASCAR type rules will need to be in effect. That way, it will be more about the rider and less about how much money you spend on building the fastest bike.

The privateers don't stand a chance. Maybe AMA needs to have a manufacturers class only for factory race teams, then have another class for privateer efforts with HP and weight restrictions.

I think the best racing is MotoGP. The last few GP races have seen various folks win, and the battle for the first 4 positions is tight.

Nice to see Ducati doing well in SBK. I am a lover of twins!

As far as delivery on the production RR's is concerned, look towards the contractor
responsible for building the bodywork.

There was a ball dropped, but it wasn't dropped by Buell. The fix is in the works.
New molds are being made. The RR's will be delivered.

Believe it.

Uh Chad, there already is the kind of racing that you prescribed above...but it is in CCS/ASRA, and not the AMA. CCS/ASRA is the nations best kept secret for motorcycle racing. It is much more competitive across the board than AMA racing.

Yeah, but CCS/ASRA isn't televised or promoted as much.

I realize the AMA, and most other race series are mainly for development of products. The manfacturers would have no reason to spend the millions they do if it didn't benefit them in some way.

Anthony,
Broken ribs are a bitch...I feel for you man. Be glad you don't have a collar bone or shoulder blade to boot. With the kind of wrecks you had, it could have happened. Crashing sucks for sure, but its all part of racing. You will ride again and I hope I am there to see the Liberty Buell win.
