That damn seat was an overstuffed turkey that had my feet barely touching the ground -- and I'm a bit above 5'11".

I pulled out 100 percent of the bulbous foam and replaced it with a fire-retardant pad about 2 inches thick that I got at a craft shop and cut with scissors to size. Then I stapled the seat cover back on -- the Uly plastic seat readily accepts staples.

It was an easy fix to make a good bike more comfortable. Looks fine. The extra foam was meaningless, given the position of the foot pegs for shock absorption.

Just went through something similar. Long story but took it to a local shop. They sanded it down, took a lot off, let me try it a couple of times. Still comfortable and i can just about flat foot now. I think it says a lot for the design of the seat.
