The other day I wanted to take out the bolt that holds the beak to the head light. First thing I noticed was that the two parts were not held together. Next I found it VERY tight to undo. ALARM BELLS ?? This felt familiar and YES it had RED thread locking paste on it. After taking it very, very easy I got it out without ripping out the insert. Now I am sure the guys were doing there best but no one in there right mind uses locking paste on a thread that goes into a "brass in plastic" insert but if you did you would not use this type. There certainly was not any on this bolt on my 06 bike as I had it apart many times. I am also not convinced that the "nearly cut through" cable in my ECM harness was not sabotage. I am convinced though that the chaffed injector wire was caused by a "slap dash" install at the factory as they had not got all the wires inside the (updated) wiring trunking fitted to prevent this problem.
