Not really, just installed new "skins" on the Uly... never ceases to amaze me how different the bike feels with new tires.

Must be what motorcycling in Heaven is like...

I just ordered a set of those T30 GT's also. Why did you decide on the GT's over the regular T30's? I decided to try them since my wife and I have been doing a bunch of 2-up trips the past months, 3 cases and a tank bag stuffed, and the Road Smart II's gave up by 6K. Too bad, the Uly really liked those.

Hoping the "heavier" construction of the GT's will work with the 900# my bike's tires have to deal with when we do longer trips. Took advantage of the Bridgestone $50 rebate also.

When I chatted with the customer service guy on Bike Bandit he recommended the GT and telling him what kind riding i will be doing.... and like you plan on doing a good deal of 2 up in the fall.

As it is now they run great. Seriously, after tuning my suspension and these tires the bike just drops in the corners so much easier.

I also have to ride on a gravel road about a mile to get to my house and they work great there too... Just loving this bike.

A worn tire will "sneak up" on you too. I had what looked like a perfectly good Michelin PR3 on the front of my Uly when I headed to Little Switzerland, NC a couple of weeks ago. After 3 days of riding in the mountains, the tread was ALMOST down to the wear bars on the shoulders. I didn't see any way it would last another 4 days up there. The M/C shops in Asheville appear to charge full list for all their tires, but I found a little indy motorcycle shop in Marion that sold both new and good take-off tires. I got a Michelin PR2 with about 50% tread left mounted and balanced for $40.

I didn't realize how bad my old tire was until I put that one on. Even that 50% worn tire made a huge difference in the bike's handling. It made the rest of my vacation in the mountains far more enjoyable.

Guess I'll be mounting new rubber front and rear in another couple of months...

Shinko 011 Verge.
Motorcycle SuperStore $185 delivered to my door.
Did mount & balance myself (still have access to Coats machine.)

The last set of Raven 009's only went 7000 miles, compared to nearly 10k for the first set.

From Shinko web site:
Designed specifically for sport/touring riding, the 011 Verge combines performance with extended tread life.

As I said it felt like a new bike again. They even feel more compliant on the freeway than the old tires.
The turn in was smooth and progressive, once again.

Extended tread life, remains to be seen...

Hughlysses, if ever in the Hendersonville NC area Dal Kawa sells and mounts. They charge a buck or two over internet prices.

I know! I was planning on it, bit was waiting for my fork seal job to get done. Chickenstrips was supposed to make too. And I would love to meet with some of the locals too. Want a seasoned Buell vet to show me about the details of my bike to keep it running in tip top shape. As it is now it is running great. Just want to keep it that way.

PM Buelltours on here sometime. He has a Uly XB12XP Police Edition and a bunch of tube framed Buells.

Saluda used to be one of my favorite places to visit when trains were still running. Steepest mainline railroad grade in the US!
