I've seen many posts on how to fix a leaking fork with a piece of film. Well, it doesn't work so well with an SD card, but Cycle Gear (and others I'm sure) sell a thin plastic tool called Seal Mate that does the same thing. I was a bit of a skeptic but the ADK ride was coming up and I had a leaking fork with no time to fix. Cleaned it like the instructions said and put 680 miles on the bike over three days without losing another drop. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself. I know I'll have to do the forks eventually but now it's not an urgent matter.

Yes, I've carried one of those on the bikes (and film before that) for years, particularly important for me since I am often off-road. It can be a tight fit and get a little tweaked up on some forks, but it works really well on the Uly.

Is the leak on the brake side?

I was "lucky" that my leak was on the left side. When parked for a few weeks it would leak enough to run down the fork and get a drop or two on the ground. If that was on the right side it would have gone all over the rim and tire.

"I was "lucky" that my leak was on the left side. When parked for a few weeks it would leak enough to run down the fork and get a drop or two on the ground. Mine does this on the BRAKE side if parked up for a month or so and I have, apart from the fact the dust seal is worn out, no idea why. It is fine if using the bike as normal.

Good post! I'll give that a shot. I just bought all the stuff to re-seal my forks but if this works.. I'll save it for later.
