Happy Birthday to my 06, the old girl turned 75,000 miles on the way home from work today.
It seems like yesterday it popped out of the crate.
As a birthday present I picked up 4 quarts of Mobil 1.
Here's to the next 25,000!

Yep, that's the stuff.
One part that won't see 100,000 is the race canister - it's about two rain storms and a good pot hole away from being in two ugly pieces.

Is that the Buell alloy one?

It looks like poorly done ceramic coated steel - the silver one that rusts the second it's exposed to oxygen that was sold for the Firebolt and Lightning in 2006.
A Drummer is in my future but I've been trying to push it back while I get the tube frame Buells all squared away.

Congrats on passing another mileage milestone!

My '06 has been hanging just short of 60,000 for nearly two years! It now is less than 80 miles to cross that line. My riding got curtailed by letting go of the last of my employees back then. Like the one armed paper hanger in a wind storm, even my planned play time is often beyond reach.

I do a celebratory first gear wheelie at each 10,000 mile mark. If I am out of town I get a picture of where it takes place. It just makes me happy. Permagrin is still what it is about!

The oil change as a "birthday gift"? Com'on.....that is like being a kid and getting sox for Christmas!
