just did the XB9 primary swap and wowsers. I love it. One small problem that im sure I caused while doing the install. I am having a slight issue down shifting. Sometimes but not every time it wont go into the lower gear when I am decelerating and downshifting. Just end up trying it again and most of the time she goes in.
any advise?

Make sure your clutch is adjusted correctly...both the cable and the screw thingy on the center of the clutch need to be close to perfect.

Pretty sure I did the clutch right. It's frigging hard to get or maybe I'm missing something.
I tried to follow the book I think to a T- I think
At one point the clutch lever wouldn't pull at all then too much, I re did it a whole bunch of times
On part of the manual says to screw in the adjustment screw till it bottoms and then another part says till it feels resistance

Also verify your primary chain adjustment...

I noticed the hook that holds your cable end would wiggle as I felt some resistance on the clutch screw. As I wiggled the hook the screw went in a little more. I kept screwing it in till the hook wouldn't wiggle anymore. From that point I backed the screw out the minimum amount but then I like to two finger my clutch.

The primary chain is real important for good shifting so as the Rat says, be sure you have that right.

I want to say the manual says to set the screw...then work the clutch lever a couple times and re-set the screw, and make adjustments from there.

Usually I go till I get resistance (don't crank it), back it off 1/4 turn, then set your lever.

I noticed something today while riding to work and thinking about this thread; downshifting into second gear takes more effort on the toe peg than the other gears when I'm coming to a stop light from 5th gear. First gear is an easy shift and that is a lower gear with a neutral dead spot between.

Maybe there is something more to it, or its easier when going from 3rd gear speed into second gear
Or I need to adjust my clutch

Well I have a bit of a update to my issue that might help with diagnosis
When I downshift to first it goes into gear but I don't fell it go and the foot lever still goes down what feels like a inch a fewf re times before The shifter finally stops in first
Does that explanation make sence
