I need the part no.for the o ring gasket that seals the primary cover to the clutch cable. I cannot see it in the parts catalog. Does anyone know it.

I think it's part of the cable, you'll need to measure it and get a universal piece from the hardware store...

The O ring is not listed in my ’07 parts manual. I replaced mine with one listed for a Sportster, part number 11179 (0.1” thick, 0.5” OD, 0.3” ID).

Or, just put thread sealant on the threads.
I use Permatex High Temp thread sealant. (rated for oil)

DO NOT OVER TORQUE THE CABLE FERRULE IT WILL BREAK!
Screw it in until it bottoms and give about 1/32 of a turn to finish.
Between the thread sealer and the fact that the cable is crimped to the ferrule, it will not unscrew itself.

The early ones can weep a little on the 06 bike but if it is just that I would not worry. I think they changed them for a new version of the cable and they are fine.

I remember reading here on BadWeb not to over torque that baby so I made sure I followed that sage advice when I replaced my cable last year. I just reused the o-ring from the broken cable. No problems. That cable was around 60 bucks as I recall.

Just realize that many times oil will leak past the area where the threaded piece is crimped on the cable sheath so no amount of sealant or new o-rings on the threads will help.

True.

The cable to ferrule crimp does weep on most bikes.
Cleaning that area with brake cleaner. Then adding a drop or 2 of super glue will slow or fix that weep.
Or
Clean and repeat as needed.

Now if you fix the leak you take away some of the character of the bike.
