Just got back from a chilly 32 degree ride. I checked the AFV and it shows zero. No trouble codes and no issues while riding the bike. It was a test run since I swapped out the engine/cylinder temp sensor on Sunday. FYI: I extended the wiring using a good section of wire from the old sensor. A fluke? | ||

Are you sure ECMspy is connected? You need to press the keys icon in the corner, you will know it is live if you can twist the throttle and the TPS reading changes. | ||

Positive. The TPS values changed when twisting the throttle and the other values were populated. | ||

Yes I thought so. The normal way of showing "zero" of the AFV is "100" because thats what the numbers (raw data)from the ECM would give in the log/crv list. So at 100 the AFV is not adding or taking away fuel, based on the fuel map which is fixed, but that will change due to conditions, load, etc and you should see this on a logged ride. At 95 to 105ish the AFV is normal and doing what is is designed to do. If it was 100 it just meant that no change was needed at that time. In your case it would be based on zero and you would have plus and minus numbers on that if any change was made. Dont worry on the AFV as it just does its own thing and you cant change it anyway. The things to make sure of are the engine and IAT temp numbers. Sounds like you bike is fine though. | ||

Interesting. In the past, it was reading 77-80 and now after swapping in the new engine/cylinder temp sensor, it shows 0. I'll do a logged run this weekend and see what it says. I'm more curious than concerned since it's running great. Thx Uly_man | ||

Was it zero in the ECM-SPY AFV box on the dials page/head up? | ||

No need its not a problem. I am not sure with ECM-SPY if the "dial" is a "real time value" reading of the AFV and the "box" is a history/average of the AFV. I never used it much and prefer TunerPro. One thing is true though the ECM will not time or fuel the bike right if any sensor inputs are wrong. I know that for a fact and proven that the IAT can seem ok but not be so. I see no reason why that would not hold true for the engine sensor as well. | ||

What version of ECM Spy? "Engine sensor"??? What would that be? Never seen a zero there! | ||
