I cut down an old windshield from a 1988 Yamaha Venture Royale that was in my mother-in-law's garage. Polished it up, painted with Black semi gloss Krylon Fusion, clear coated and waxed. It is wider and taller than the stock cover. I'm thinking of ordering a large EBR Pegasus decal to adorn it with. If anyone is wondering about buffeting with this setup, all I wear is a 1/2 helmet and I look over this windshield and have no buffeting. Windshield is a modified Cee Bailey and the rods are from Slipstreamer.

I actually have 4 windshield for my Ulysses and I've went back to using the small one that came stock on the bike . I enjoy the wind , I had never owned. a motorcycle with windshield prior to my Ulysses.

I can't take riding without this setup. Wind fatigues. Rain hurts (wish it would rain). Can't ride with a 1/2 helmet at over 50 without it getting really annoying. Wind also puts pressure on lower spine which I really don't need after back surgery so many years ago. The tall windshield negates all these factors. Not everyone's cup of tea and that is fine by me.
My wife and I rode up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan a few weeks ago. She on her Sportster and me on my son's ULY with this windshield. We rode the last half of the nearly 2000 mile trip at 60 to 65 mph, she getting about 60 mpg and me getting well over 50 mpg. The tire on the ULY was showing cords so we had to slow things way up just in case the tire failed. It did not and we made it home safe and sound. The UP of Mich is really nice to visit on a bike.

So your mother-in-laws bike is now missing a windshield? Was she OK with that or did you ask first?

The windshield was replaced with a taller one and the one I absconded with was not ever to be used again.

Luftkoph,
We stayed in Munising, Mich right by Grand Island and the Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. Beautiful area with all those waterfalls and forests. Didn't know anyone was in that area.
