Hey All, I have just had some work done on my Uly including upgrading to 2007 springs on my 2006 Uly. The rebound screw on the right fork sits flush when I adjust it to the factory settings. However the screw on the right side sits about a 1/4 inch higher on the same setting and will not back out further. The screws are at the same setting just sitting at different heights. I have not had a chance to ride and check out the forks and I am looking to leave town Sunday. I don't really know the details of frork adjusters!! Should I have this fixed?? Or is it not a big deal? The mechanic that did the job is willing to pull the fork and redo. But I'd like to get on the road if it is not an issue. Cheers |

The lock nuts got turned from their original position. The top cap and adjuster will have to come back off to get them set right. It is an easy thing to alter the lock nut's position and not notice until it is back together, especially for a guy like me who only does it every other year. Having had mine off a bit it does not seem to hurt anything. You cannot use the marks equalize them so much as having to accurately count turns. And it does not look right. It would be best to have him pop them back out to get them back to where they should be. |
