I am in the middle of swapping to the 9 gearing. I have pressed the sprocket out of the rotor, and pressed the new one in. Service manual says to tighten the 8 bolts between those 2 pieces to 90-110 in/lbs. It makes no mention of Loc-Tite. My question: Really? No Loc-Tite?? That's not too much torque, and it sure would suck to have one of those back out! What say you (those who have done this)? |

They do need lock-tight. I believe the bolts are supposed to be discarded and new ones that have lock-tight on them are used. |

Be sure to chase the threads in the wheel to remove residuals of the old adhesive before installing new bolts. I forgot to and later had a hard time getting the replacement bolts out due to the build up of the pre applied loctite. Husky |
