no pics yet, probably not necessary.

i have wanted to carry a 12vdc compressor for awhile, and decided to see if i could find one that will fit in the tool tube. luckily the Campbell Hausfeld model RP1200 does just that!!! as long as you remove a few screws and take the plastic case off the pump itself. i have seen a few websites mention this farkle for motorcycles, i just was glad to find out it fits in the tool tube!!!

the only modification i made so far, is de-soldering the wires at the motor, and soldering on some alligator clips right to the motor terminals, no switch needed!!

there is no gauge. i carry one, so no issue there. i'll just slide the whole thing into the tube, with a couple clean rags for cusion, and roll!!

in the future, i will look into permanently mounting the unit in the tube, with a hardwire to the battery with a switch and some cooling holes in the tube. then just need to add a long air hose to reach the front wheel and a built in gauge maybe. i'll follow up with that after homecoming.

i did try some time to pressure tests, as follows;

starting with a 180 rear tire at 0 psi, 2 minutes to 16 psi, and 3 more minutes to 34 psi. not too bad, the pump does get pretty hot, but was cool enough to handle after a couple minutes.

this is one of the original sites that gave me the idea;

i bought mine locally for $19.99 plus tax. Probably could have found it on line cheaper, but it is nice to support the local merchants once in awhile!!!

hopefully i won't need it, but i'll have it!!!
