Froggy,

Do you or anyone you know run HID in both beams? If so, three questions.

1) Do you have any issues using the flash-to-pass with the HID, or do you just live without it?

2) I'm assuming you are running 55W bulbs, so do you feel you've restricted your ability to use other electric devices, i.e. heated clothing, driving lights, etc.?

3) I will be installing a pair of 55W driving lights soon (they were a gift, so I gotta use'em). Do you feel that running the driving lights and two 55W HIDs together will be asking for trouble?

Thanks.

I can still flash fine with HIDs. If they weren't recently on, they will take a few seconds to reach full brightness but they still can be flashed.

LOL! I run with dual 50w HID, two PIAA 55w aux lights, full Gerbings heated suit, Buell heated grips, Garmin Zumo 550 GPS, XM Radio, Veypor race computer, USB phone charger, and an electric cooler. Don't idle too long : D

The only trouble will be the "Oh whats that green light on my dash? Oh! I left my aux lights on again, silly me, I didn't notice them over my low beam HID". True story.

Hey Froggy, sorry to hijack the thread, did you use relay harness? I just got my harness, plugged in the DDM 55w ( a pair of them) and got these extra wires and plugs coming from the bulb area.

my 35w HID put out so much more light then stock I don't know if you need to mess with the additional heat and current of the 55's.
but I have never ridden with the 55's. They probably even nicer.

But the 35's will not disappoint you either. I have never ridden a motorcycle with so much light : ).
I did have a guzzi with Lucas electrical once. Only 8V made it through the headlight switch to the actual bulbs. Talk about scary riding at night! the previous owner road it for years that way. (but a simple relay fixed that problem).

I must of posted it in the other thread, there are so many HID threads they all look the same to me after a while.

No, I am not using the relay on any of my vehicles anymore. The DDM harness is designed for cars, so it has tons of extra wire that isn't easy to tuck away, plus being for cars with two head lamp assemblies it will have extra connectors unless you have the 1125R (which has two headlamp assemblies). I ended up trimming mine down to reduce the extra clutter, and due to my wonderful soldering skills it broke several times. I run off the factory harness now.
