I have had to replace my front mount four times in 44,000+ miles. Seems like about every 8000 miles on average.

The problem with making a more heavy duty mount or putting in limiter bushings is that you will be making it vibrate through the frame all of the time, not just when it goes bad.

A little tear or crack on the rubber at the base of the rubber web is not unusual even when they are nearly new. That does not mean that it has failed. If you feel strong vibrations all of the time through the frame, seat, bars, and pegs, regardless of rpm or load, there is a good chance it is bad.

My last one showed those cracks, so I bought one to replace it. I rode six more months before the vibrations became bad enough to need the replacement installed.

When the rubber webs break or tear about 2/3 of the way up through the mount hole, seems to be the time the vibrations start to get quite noticeable.

This is the latest one that was used up.
