hi guys,

my 06 Uly has developed a bit of a glitch at 3k rpm on a steady throttle...its worst when its cold...but still noticeable when warmed up...

the bike has got nearly 11k on it and the 10k service will be done next week...
its got the airbox breather mod and a remus exhaust...

it pulls fine everywhere else...but on steady throttle at 3k it feels like its either missing a spark or getting not enough fuel...

will a TPS reset be the first point of curing it? of course new sparks will be fitted next week along with all the other 10k service work...

just looking for info if anyone else has had this...

thx Lars

TPS, yes start there. If it wasn't done with your exhaust/airbox mod, it probably should have been.

My '05 City-X ran fine with the Buell race kit when I installed it. The more it ran the worse it got until I had time to do the TPS reset. At that time the dealer was the only place to get it done, I had to wait for an appointment.

Mine has done that since new. I think it is a known issue and something you live with...from all off the post I've read. Do a search. Should turn up lots of threads.

Check your idle speed. My 06 did that at around 10000 miles. It seems the idle speed had slowed down,I adjusted the idle up to 1050 & my 3000rpm stumble disappeared.

I have devoted an entire weekend trying to find the stumble issue and resolve it. I can't say for certain but I have had no stumble issues after turning off the LEARN mode on the ECM. There are drawbacks ,fuel mileage, elevation changes, but it doesn't stumble at 3000 to 3200 anymore.
It could be a fluke but it has worked for me for 5000 miles.

Lars: When I first got my Uly it ran great. Then dealer did first service, they reset the TPS cold and the bike ran like crap. I got the software and redid my own TPS and it ran much better, but the dealer made it run very poorly by doing the TPS.
