i put a post on here my bike sound like a popcorn maker ..I bought a 06 with 1600 miles from billing montana rode home to oregon and now have put 150 or so everyday since i got back about 4000 miles on it .I drilled some hole in other side of muffler it make sound way better seem to run as good maybe more punch now will left front wheel in second now ..I was not sure if i liked it at all after 1500 miles seem flat slow sounded bad ..now i am warming up to it i relize it not made to be fast but it is quick handle nice and i been lucky so far no problem with it in any way just run nice.i wish it had center stand i wish came with nice muffler that had nice sound what with buell or harley they sale bikes because they do sound good ..I guess it really come down to you need many bikes to suite all your wants one bike can not do it .I need a dirt bike i need a touring bike i need cafe racer . a couple of old bikes that love ..i guess i am going to be spending all my free money for long time to come ..

Interesting mod to your can........ Still, it serves a similar purpose to those who have smacked a wrecking bar up the tailpipe to punch a hole in the internal pipe.....!

I personally like the "quiet" of my stock system. I would recommend the Drummer or similar exhaust systems for the loud, - "here I am", sound that some people like.
At the same time I can appreciate the home mods (drilling or wrenching bar). To-each-their-own.

If you put on a full face helmet, you may find that you like the sound.

a lot of early v-rod owners did that mod with the 1/4 inch drill holes... it gave a bit of sound without having to remap...
