I demo'd the XR1200 today. A bit cramped for my 6' frame. Nice motor but not quite the kick my 06' ULY has. Maybe it is the extra 100 or more pounds of the XR. I loved the exhaust sound and intake rush of the XR. Very smooth engine for a Harley v-twin. Very smooth throttle response and much nicer just off idle than my wife's 07' XL1200R. Seat was not very comfortable, but then I'm comparing it to my ULY which is pretty nice ( 06 tall seat ). It would be a perfect bike for my son who is shorter than me (he's only 17 so he still might get taller). The 1125CR looks like way more for just a grand more. 1125CR is 187 lbs lighter which is a bunch.

Yeah, I think the CR is almost the same price and as Frog mentioned, with significantly more punch.

1125R versus XR1200? Motorcycle versus scooter. The XR1200 is not even a good scooter, it has a tiny gas tank. I don't understand why anyone would want to buy this bike, but to each his or her own. What is it for? Weak engine, no range, not comfortable to ride. But it does look cool. Get your kid a Buell, they all are better, more innovative, and more practical.

You just nailed why 96% of Harleys are sold. That and the whole being a badass thing.

The politically correct police have taken the cajones and fun out of most of everything. We still have bad a.ss bikes thank god. Harleys are bad a.ss bikes. I just wish they could lighten them up and give them better suspensions. No reason in the world that the XR1200 is a 562 lb bike. Not when the 1125CR is under 400 lb dry. Harley engineers should be ordered to remove a minimum of 25 lbs per bike per year until they drop at least 100 lbs. Always remember that Buell bikes are as good as they are because of Harley's deep pockets. Before Harley came into the picture Buell finances were probably teetering on the precipice. Why else would Buell have let Harley get involved.
