Hey Gang..I hope everyone is well and getting ready for Christmas. I haven't talk with anyone regularly except for Hoon(whose about to be a Daddy). I just had shoulder surgery for the 2nd time in 5 months on the same shoulder. Everyone keep your fingers crossed. Maybe this will be the year I actually break the 1000 mile barrier on my odo that has been a big monster to me with the bike problems I had that you all helped me with and then my busted wing. I just wanted to let you all know I'm grateful to have you guys around and looking forward to maybe tearing up some pavement with you all this year finally. As for Raider, he's got the gas protector in it, trickle charger on and gets started once a week. 691 miles on it, 2006 bought in May 07. Any thoughts as to what I should be looking to do to it since its been sitting for so long?
Thanks
Gug

Hey Gugn...

I grew up in Wyoming, Ohio...used to blast around Loveland in my '82 Maserati...er, Maserota, er, Maserolla. Hey, at least it had 5 on the floor. Looking forward to spending a little Christmastime back with the folks in the Tri-State area (they live in Mt. Lookout now) and the old gang in Wyoming and Greenhills. Oh, and getting my fill of Skyline and LaRosa's.

As for rides in the area, I am really craving a ride around my old stomping grounds...the 7 hills of Cincinnati and all the overlooks, the bridges, Route 32 along the river, cruising the San Francisco-like hills of Mt. Adams, the mansion-and-deer-infested country roads of Indian Hill, and the river-crossing blue-collar towns of Milford and...crap, it's been too long.

I have a plan that I'll rent a ST1300 or a GS in Knoxville, tour the Bourbon distilleries of Kentucky, roll home to Cincinnati for a bit, then cruise the general area. Next Spring, for sure!

Gug - hope you get a chance to ride this coming spring! The Cincinnati thread has been kinda quiet.

Oh, and getting my fill of Skyline and LaRosa's.

Glad we're not the only ones that do that when we head to Cincy to visit friends and family!

Hooper - I lived in Springdale and M2nc in Springfield Township. It's a small world. It's amazing how much the northern area has grown since we left in 1992.

Good lord, Springdale...

I lived in Wyoming full-time from 1971-1995: Tri-County Mall getting a second floor, the controversy over the Hooters (in the Old ____ Palace) across from Showcase Cinemas...

Did you go to school with Kim Clark and Kelly Greene? They may have been ahead of you in school.

Hooper

I currently live in the Chicago area but I also grew up in Cincinnati. I grew up in the Clifton / Colerain area and have family spread all over the area. I just purchased my XT late this summer and have not been to Cincy to ride. Before I moved, I put many miles on my BMW R100Rs in the area. It is a great place to ride. If you get to the area this spring, let me know. I can ride down and re-live early ridding years.

Next time I get to the area, I will drop you a message and maybe we can do a ride. I am sure you can show me the great rides that I have forgotten.

Thanks for the replies. Looking forward to the Spring and some rides with you all. Gives me something to have a goal in rehab with to push the shoulder to.

since it's been on a tender and started often, I'd say give it fresh oil and filter, check the air in the tires, wipe it down and ride it.
