Has anyone used these? http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?I tem=HL-HW I'm thinking they might be mountable on the handguards, like the lights on the police Uly. I'm not sure how they compare price-wise to the purpose-built police ones, but they look like a comparable option. I'm all about more conspicuity. I have the HIDs, PIAA driving lights, a High-Viz Roadcrafter one-piece suit, reflective tape all over my bike, a Special OPS pipe, and I still get cut off pretty often in traffic. Luckily I'm aware and can usually see it coming, though there was a close one today in the rain. I actually ended up moving into the breakdown lane to avoid being hit. But I think I scared the drive when I blasted them with the two FIAMM Freeway Blaster horns... |

I'm of course an advocate of being seen but one thing to remember is that drivers can also "Target-Fixate" on unusual objects. I think being on the extreme side of being seen may be as much a detriment as good. I use the ride-like-hell and stay as far away as possible attitude but that is only if you can. Otherwise in bad conditions you're best bet is to stay off the road if possible. I know this sounds wimpy but you have to face the truth as it is and consider how bad most drivers are these days with all the distractions of cell phones, computers, navigators, etc. Can you tell I hate traffic?
