I was at my local Buell dealer and sat on a XB9 and it was to small for me, it was very uncomfortable to sit on. Is the Uly XT the same size or larger. I have not found one at any dealer so I was hoping some one could assist.

All the bikes are about the same size. Each model has different ergonomics. There essentially is 2 different air cooled Buell’s. There is the ones with the 3.8 gallon frame and then the ones with the 4.4 gallon frame.

The 3.8 gallon framed Buell's have 52" wheelbase while the 4.4 has a 54" wheelbase. For 2009, there are 3 models with the 3.8; they are the XB9SX CityX and the XB12SCG Lightning low center of gravity, and the XB12R Firebolt. The XB12SS, XB12X, and XB12XT all use the 4.8.

Each of the 3 bikes in each category is very similar, with differences being in pegs, suspensions, and cosmetics.

You didn't specify what XB9 you sat on; it could have been one of the discontinued models like XB9R, XB9S, and XB9SL.

See if the Buell Demo truck is coming to your area soon, if so you will be able to sit on every bike to find one that fits right.

But to answer your question, yes, the Uly's are bigger.

Yes give the Ulysses (either model) or the Lightning Long (XB12SS) a look. They both have a bit more leg room. The Ulysses models have taller more upright handle bars and lower pegs. Also, there are several seat options available for every bike so that can be changed as need for your comfort requirements.

What do you ride now? Are you trying to find something similar to different to it?
