So my (much) better half has given me the green light to go and get myself the Uly. Problem is none of the local dealers (Memphis) have one in stock. Does anyone know of a (good) dealer in the Mid South with an 08 in stock, or should I just bite the bullet and see if my local dealer (Bumpus) can order one (which of course will make any dealing MUCH harder, I'd suspect). Boughan, Use ordering it to your advantage. The dealer doesn't have any carrying cost on the "ordered" bike. The dealer doesn't even have to sell it because it's already sold, to you. He should give you a dandy deal if you've got the balls to hold his to the fire. I ordered mine and used that logic and they threw the bags in for free. That was back in late 05' for the then new 06' model. Remember this, the economy sucks right now and all the dealers know it. Your dollars are very sought after. Drive a hard bargain. Let the dealer know that you'll walk if not treated right. Good dealing. | ||

Just spoke to someone from Granite Mountain. Unfortunately, they don't have what I am looking for either (08 Uly (X not T) in a bright color (red or yellow, wife insisted). The guy I talked to was very friendly and helpful though, and promised to see what he could do..  Stay tuned. Bougan | ||

That is exactly the argument I need to avoid at the moment... If she had her way, I'd be wearing a clown outfit while riding, including red nose and flashing lights. She is just worried about me (and knowing Memphis drivers with good reason). Boughan | ||

i appreciate you calling down there. i feel bad that i didn't pick up the xt from them but the bike i traded in was already back in tampa so it wasn't really feasable to cart it up to atlanta. i hope they can hook you up with what you want. be sure to let me know. | ||

o.k. bad news. It seems like that there are no regular 08 Ulys to be had anywhere near where I live (Memphis). I went to the local dealer and they have a touring model in stock, 14k out the door, OUCH. I might have to wait for the 09s to come out.. Unless anyone has a lead. Boughan | ||
