Was baggin to work at 0430 this morning on the expressway wearing the new refurbished Scorpion EXO-1000. It felt like I was driving an SUV. No head wind, nice and calm, lots of street lights and not a cage in sight. Tucked down a bit and hammered it. Glanced at the speedo and it indicated 135 and climbing. Man o man o man... I love this bike. It was still pulling hard. My tuner raised my rev limit to 7400 or 7600...I dunno, as I have not hit it since. I wish I had looked at the tach but the road was coming up pretty fast. Suspension is dialed in perfect. A little tight for commuting but smooth as silk at high speed.

I know some of the members have had the uly on the track, and I was wondering how fast they have been. I am not looking to break any records, nor do I condone this sort of behavior... Just wondering how much more she has in her. Seems like the faster it is going, the harder it pulls. Makes me think the race airbox is catching alot of air at that speed. Maybe not enough to pressurize the charge, but at least makes more air available?

Ever wish your perfect ride to work, never ended?

135 you must have different gears than mine, I've bounced mine of the limiter in 5th before and was only indicating around 120. If I remember right the GPS said something like 118mph.

I have the stock gears and an increased rev limit.

You hit the stock rev limiter at 120 (118 actual)....I can't remember what the stock rev limit is set at offhand.

Maybe my speedo is goofed. It did get there pretty easy...I guess I need to mount the garmin to verify speedo accuracy. I wonder if it is even mathematically possible?

Sure was fun tho.

Tread,
Beware of that speed. The Coast Guard might pick you up as a low flying aircraft and want to intercept. Be safe and continue to have fun.

Coming home from MBV I hit the rev limit on my 06 with a race kit installed. While I was passing a few truck and trailers 3 in a line on a 2 lane. I down shifted to 3rd and bounced 3rd, 4th and 5th. GPS was stable at 122 while it bounced 2 times off the limiter. With the open lane going away fast I didn't peek behind the GPS for a indicated speed. The speedo would be way off because I have a 60/160 Distanzia installed on the rear. Now I was loaded with all 3 bags and wet gear from the weekend I think it has more if I lighten up. I'm normally not a speed freak but that was fun to do at least once!!!!

I've never hit the limiter in 5th on this bike, but I've had mine to 130 "indicated". Mine is completely stock. It gets to 120 pretty good but that last 10mph took a while. My '04 Z1000 would bounce off the limiter at 150 all day long... but it's a different world and I love the Uly soooo much more! hahaha
