Kind of a weird question I guess, but I know you guys would be able to answer it... Would it be fairly easy to make a ULY out of practically ANY XB model? I mean like the handlebars, tail section, hard bags, some kind of windshield, etc.? Is there really that much of a difference between the ULY and other XB's? Thanks, Russ |

Hmmm...ok. Reason I asked is because I've seen guys who have made other bikes out of their Uly. There is (was) a Uly on ebay that was made into a Firebolt. I just figured you could go the other way too. Thanks, Russ |

You probably could, but you may want to start with an SS Lightning for the longer wheel base. |

"There is (was) a Uly on ebay that was made into a Firebolt." I've ridden a Firebolt, and THAT was no Firebolt. It was a Uly with some Firebolt bits and pieces attached. You could take a Firebolt and attach the Uly "beak" but it would still be a Firebolt in fit, feel, and performance. |

As stated earlier you need one of the long wheel based XB's. SS, TT, XT and X. The SS is the worst choice because of suspension bottoming issues and the TT being the best choice. Steve mackay did his uly bolt from a TT and I am doing my SXT from and SS. With that said I have about a grand in my conversion and that only includes the rear clip and triple tail. with some of the parts from ebay. I expect to pay another 500-1k for suspension. Another 800 or so for bags and mounts. It is cheaper just to go ahead and buy an XT or X. So it is not a conversion for the faint of heart. for some pics see the thread titled mounting an XT windscreen on an SS. |

you can do anything you want with the Buell "Lego" building blocks. Just dont expect it to be easy, quick, or cheap. And most of your mounting will be custom as off the shelf options may not work for your application. PS You can put a Uly Beak, bash plate, bags, knobby tires on a CityX; and it is still NOT a ULY DAMHIK. The pic is for badlionsfan, because he seems to enjoy them as much as I do.
