Good deal Dennis. Sorry for the delay. It's contract negotiating time here in the union I'm in so the work slowdown has begun. So that means tons of overtime for us in the Test Flight section. I'm working again all weekend. Money is great but the time is more important to me. Enjoy!! |

Kip, I sent Odie a couple of pictures of my short blanket set-up. (they were too big to load on this site and I haven't figured out how to down size them yet. doy!) He was going to put the photos on his site, haven't looked to see if they are there yet. |

My Heat Blankets by Odie arrived several days ago and I installed the front barrier earlier this week. Fit and finish are very nice. Thus far, in limited testing, results are excellent. Heat still radiates on the right side, but there is no heat blowing out of the "gap" and the ride is much cooler. Today was nearly 80 deg and I just got back from some rush-hour freeway traffic. Hot enough that the fan was running occasionally. The blanket worked very well. We had a few 80 degree days a couple of weeks ago and things were much more easily tolerated today. From what I could tell, the only high levels of heat that I experienced were coming from under the frame, not from the airbox cover and the seat gap. Much improvement! Highly recommended. |

Hey Kip. I'm going to get them posted up tomorrow. Work has been crazy with a ton of overtime that I don't want. Stupid union job makes it impossible to say no (unless you want fired). Check late tomorrow. |

Kip- no Sir, I haven't. Wife and kids are out of town for a basketball tourney and I'm trying to run two businesses by myself, work a fulltime job with a ton of overtime, and take care of the house and the 4 dogs. I'm overtaxed to say the least. I'm going to try to get them posted tonight if I don't fall asleep first. Sorry for the delay...... |

Short blanket looks nice Odie. If it works just as well as the other blankets, that would be the way to go. You would just have to tuck it down close to the rear shock. |

thanks Odie I knew you were busy.Just not THAT busy. it looks good I thought it would go under the air box like the "maxium" blanket. does it just sit in there? I'm sure it doesn't matter bit I thought I would check. |

Kip- that particular barrier was a request from a customer. I plan on making a new version of all of my current barriers with the new shape in the front to shield more heat. Hopefully after MBV if things slow down enough. I would like to have them ready for early spring before it gets too hot. I can make whatever pattern someone would like. I just need a template/pattern or very good measurements. |

thanks Odie I will keep in touch. I would be interested in a short version of the maxium blanket with the 3 airbox bolt holes.I do not have the measurements and I am not in a hurry. the temps still around 30 here. |

Hey All, Interested in the heat blanket... Not sure about length... How effective is the 6" 2 piece version... does it still keep the booty noticably cool? Thanks, Ulyanfreedom |

I have Odie's 1st-gen blanket as well as adhesive heat material stuck to the underside. of the seat. http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?nu mber=SH1203 I also just got the new Buell side deflector thingies. Been too cool here to know for sure, but it seems like I only feel heat from the pipes now. Perhaps time to wrap them now... |

Fubar-How thick is that stuff? Is it thin enough to fit between the frame and motor? I used the hvac foil tape for now. |

Perhaps between a 1/16th and an 1/8th of an inch. I thought about the same thing. I have a bit left over and will try a test fit this weekend. |

Hi, I was planning to put Aluminum duct tape on the right side and rear portion of the frame. Will this thicker material fit on the frame behind the right cylinder? I know that Treadmarks put some thick stuff on the right rail, http://shorterlink.com/?ZWJUNB, but don't know if he did on the rear. Thanks |

I went all the way to the fan from the right side. The heat barrier I used is not much thicker than duct tape, but does a great job stopping the heat. I wish I had put it on the left side as well, because now it gets way hotter than the right. |

Mine came yesterday. Thanks Odie. The fit is great. If its not a problem, I would like to buy a second back half piece and attempt to modify it to fit snugly around the plastic piece over the shock to block any heat at all from getting into the compartment under the seat and compare the two. Maybe even just a square foot of material with a velcro strip. Perhaps you could bring it to MBV. |

Odie, finally got the chance to put on the blankets this weekend. Unbelievably easy to install, and a Sharpie took care of the white peeking out. Can't wait 'til a good rain washes away all the damn sand on the roads so I can try it out! Later, EV |
