I think just very recently. It was big news on ADVrider.com

The Hornet DS has been sold around the world, but has recently been upgraded (I believe) and finally available in USA.

I'm looking at one for my next helmet.

Yea, I have seen it outside the US, but missed the intro here.

Good news!

Bought one on Ebay from Japan last year. Sizing seems to run small. I think I could have used an XL. Only wore it a couple of times. Seems to be short front to back and it hurts my forehead. Gotta say that the ventilation is great and it is extremely light weight. Gotta watch turning your head too much at speeds above 70mph...the visor bill grabs a lot of air.

If anyone with a smaller head than me is interested in it, I'll make you a great deal on one in size large. PM me for pictures.

I've had two of them (ordered from Japan)and use the Hornet exclusively when riding the Uly. At speeds up to 80 mph there's no wind trouble with the front visor. Above that I get a little uplift. Strong crosswinds are tough on your neck though. The helmet is light weight and fairly quiet. The first held up very well in a crash. I think the light weight had a lot to do with me not suffering any whiplash. Here's a review. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/shoei/hornet/

Dougm - haven't seen your PM. PM me again with your email address and I will send you pictures, though.

However, I did get a PM from Gotj last night. He has first dibs.

Hi all,

Just want to give a big public thanks to Aeholton. He shipped his Hornet DS to me to try on before asking for any payment. Unfortunately, it was too big, but it really is a beautiful helmet. I at least owe you a beverage of your choice Aeholton!

Thanks again,

DougM
