Have any of you used ROK straps to down bags on the rear ? Needing a way to tie down a duffel on the back during Colorado ride , the ROK's look best but I don't see how the hooks will work on the undertail nor anywhere else.

Give Helen2wheels a look. I have used them and like the way they work...simple. She is motorcycle savvy, oh and you can talk to a real person when you call.

I also use Helen2wheels straps and bags. I've tried the ROK and I like the H2W straps better. I've done three cross country trips with them and they always worked well. I even towed a buddy who's bike broke down the next gas station with them.

Helen scares me, but she makes good stuff for sure.

Just back from the RA Rally in Asheville NC
(yea I got a BMW too!).
She never made it to the Rally, I heard she got Hit but a Truck and is in the hospital in Tenn.
She was traveling by bike.

Thanks folks, still not quite certain where to anchor them. Seems like there is only the rear grab rails to use as anchors

Hope Helen is okay, I hear there were several people injured after the rally.

Helen Update - E mail from her.

"I dIdn't make it to the rally... I was forced off the road by a semI merging into my thru lane prior to a construction zone.. avoided the truck and my riding partner but locked the rear end in gravel and lowsided into the median.

broken left ankle, right wrist... lots of pins and plates... a little road rash on left arm and leg... wasn't zipped all the way and/or armor slide off to the side. a few bruises... esp. right elbow...

gear did it's job. got back to Mich on Sunday... home care, good meds...I'll be in Wisconsin next month.

set straight the rumors... the truth is bad enough for me."

There are four 'slots' underneath the tail to use hooks. Look for em.

I use the rear pegs to mount one set of straps and place the flipper thingy to the rear and use the slots in it for the rear.

The hooks for the ROK straps look to be too wide to fit in the slots under the seat. Had hoped to avoid using the beavertail due to balance concerns but so far rear pages and beavertail sound like the best option. Tks

I picked up an Emgo bag set from my local HD dealership for $99, and it works great. It straps right into the holes in the duck tail.
