Thought I've seen pictures of a Uly with hand guard extenders that raise the top edge high enough to block the wind off your hands.

Any one have the link to where I can get these?

Thanks

Looks like they're backordered:

http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/show.lasso?sku=3 80-0050

I've been thinking about getting these - anyone install them? How easy (you have to drill holes) and how well do they work.

Are there other brands of handgaurds to replace the stock ones that might work better?

I've got a set on my Uly.

They were very easy to install....drill 2 holes on each handguard. During the summer I intend to remove them. They are that easy.

I've got photos at home, can't post now, I'm at work.

Seemed kinda pricey for what they are, but fit very well and seem to be of good quality.

Are the Uly handguards the same as the 9sx? I was looking at those as well.

We have them on our bikes- took about 10 minutes to install and they make a nice contribution to keeping the wind off your hands in cold weather. We'll leave them on all year. I also installed the larger sidestand foot and will probably do the oil cooler guard. I've heard the skid plate setup is heavy and increases vibrations to the rider due to it being rigid mounted in one spot. Their catalog is a hoot.

I have the touratech bashplates. If you hack off the top right bolt hole on the front plate, everything else will hard mount to the engine and will not cause additional vibes.

LC,

The Zero Gravity is the bomb. The bike should come this way. With the Rox risers I can sit straight up and only get air on the helmet, or I can lean forward and let the force of the air on my upper chest take the load off my wrist.

How much would you estimate it weights? I'd prefer a lightweight aluminum plate, but I haven't been able to find one yet.

In another week or two, Rocky (Rox Risers) should have 2" and 3" special made for the Uly in gunmetal gray.

Thanks Kip.

I got my ZG from the manufacturer as I was in a rush at the time and Cee Bailey's had just cancelled my order. American Sport Bike or Daves should be able to shoot them to you. I got my revised mounting kit from Daves also.

Paochow,

H E double hockey sticks, I thought it was aluminum.

I just went outside and tried the magnet test, and the magnet would not stick. It liked the muffler, but not the bashplate. It is heavier than the stock plastic but not that heavy actually. It is strong enough to use a floor jack to lift both wheels off the ground tho.

I'm sure the bashplaate with Odie's servoless muffler is lighter than factory can and plastic.

If you use a K&N oil filter (#177) you will have to remove the two bolts on the right side to get the filter off for an oil change.

Thanks for the info Treadmarks. I was under the impression they were steel from what others have posted.

Maybe I'll give one a shot. I've been doing pretty limited off roading, because I don't want to tear up my now extinct race pipe.

I wish I'd have found the deal you got on yours..

Thanks again.

2" risers will fit by removing the front brake line clamp behind the forks.

3" risers will need the throttle cables rerouted.

Rox Riser update: just checked today, Mar 9, 2007, about the Buell models and they will be available in "a couple of weeks."
Hmmmmm.
