Anyone know where I can get a set of bar risers for the Uly?

Would be nice to raise the bars an inch or so for gravel riding when I'm standing.

As it is now I have to lean forward to reach the bars when I'd on the pegs.

I got a set from Trojan in England. I like them. After I purchased them someone posted that they just purchased another cover piece that holds the bars down and put it under the bar upside down and it gave about an inch more. Saved a great deal of money that way and also kept the neat little cover peice that does not work with the expensive ones that I purchased. Maybe doing a search will bring up those postings.

Howdy!

Try this Thread:
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/228937.html

I use two of the Ulysses handlebar top clamps under my bars. This gives me a 1.5 inch rise.

I also filed down the top of the wings that are the bolt bosses so that they are square and flat on top and bottom. The job would have gone faster with a milling machine, but a coarse file worked well.

I did not file down the entire rounded portion of the top of the clamp. I just filed down a small area around each bolt hole. These four pairs of flat parallel surfaces on the four wings-bosses allow the clamps to seat together and stack together with maximum support.

After I filed them down, each clamp produces a .75 inch rise. The two of them stacked together produces 1.5 inches of rise.

At 1.5 inches of rise I needed to unbolt the adel clamp that holds the front brake hose to the rear of the instrument pod. A 0.75 inch rise does not require the removal of the adel clamp.

If you use just one riser, then you will need 2 inch long bolts to clamp the handlebars to the triple clamp.

If you stack two risers, then you will need 3 inch long bolts to clamp the handlebars to the triple clamp.

The Allen Head bolts are 5/16” diameter by 18 Threads per inch (5/16-18) which is Coarse Thread. I used Stainless Steel Allen head bolts for my installation.

Have fun!
