Does anyone have any idea if I can order the handlebar mount and any necessary power cables without buying the whole Quest GPS package? Is there a single part number, or do I have to order a bunch of smaller replacement parts? I've got RAM mount stuff, but really like the low, clean look of the Buell mount.

I see that all of the HD mounts are available with or without the GPS - are any of them the same as the Buell mount?

I've sent and email to Garmin's HD support, but they've not responded - is there a phone number or email address for accessories at Buell?

I was told by the dealer that these bits have part numbers but are not "orderable". I ordered RAM mounts and a Garmin cradle from Cycoactive.

Well dang... If Buell doesn't want to take my money, I guess I'll use the RAM stuff I've already got.

Thanks for checking on that Fubar and Daves.

Try eBay. I found these two doing a quick search of "Garmin quest":

Aeholton, I've already got the first part and some RAM hardware to mount it to a set of handlebars.

It's the part that bolts to the back of that cradle and onto the perch for the front brake that is Buell specific that I want, mostly because it looks very nice (and maybe has a factory wiring connector?). I'm even willing to buy a whole new cradle if I have to in order get that mount - I just don't want to have to buy a whole new Garmin Quest to get the mounting hardware when I already have one with multiple bike mounts, car mounts, etc.

Maybe one will turn up someday where the owner has broken his Quest and wants to unload the mounting hardware.

I purchased the Motorcycle Mount from Garmin and a RAM mount. I use them on my Road King, I am planning on buying another Motorcycle mount and RAM mount for the ULY so I can switch the unit between bikes.

Yes you absolutely positively can buy the parts from HD/ Buell. I have a Garmin GPS unit and purchased the Quest cradle kit from Garmin and the factory bracket w/ hardware from my local HD shop. Guess what? It does not cost anywhere near $600.

Wake up

Whitj - do you happen to have the HD part numbers?

Harness 70019-05Y
Spacers 76008-05Y (2)
Bracket 76007-05Y
Decal 92186-05Y

The cradle mount is available from Garmin. You'll need 2 M6-1.0 x 30mm screws to replace the clamp screws. There are 2 #6-32 x 1.25" flat-head screws and 1 #6-32 x 1" flathead screw that attach the cradle to the Buell bracket.

Honestly, I dont like it mounted in the Buell location because you have to be completely stopped to do anything with it (understandable). I'm probably going to relocate it up above the instruments or onto the left side of the bars in the future. At that point the bracket will be for sale.

Soloyosh - thanks for the part numbers! I take it to mean I need to order 2 of the spacers (#76008-05Y).

How does the wiring harness connect? Is it a nice plug and play connection to the main wiring harness and a couple of screws to attach it to the back of the Garmin bracket?

I'm currently using a RAM mount and a short arm on the left side of the handlebars. It works fine, but I'd be happier if the cradle were attached flat to the bars instead of the couple of inches off the bars that the ram mount puts it.

I don't know if I'll like the GPS on the right bar I've always mounted them on the left or in the center of the bars.

Perhaps I should get some aluminum stock and mill a bracket for the left bar that I can attach the Garmin cradle and HD wiring harness to.

The harness "Ys" into the power outlet harness. The earphone jack screws into the Buell bracket and the power plug slides into the back of the Garmin cradle.
