I can't afford both the ecm and pipe right now and am considering just the pipe with stock ecm and filter. Anyone doing this with either a ecm emulator or just tying the actuator cable off? If so, any lean running issues? I Know there are a few used pipes out there. I want something just a little louder than stock and have the ability to upgrade to a race ecm later. Thanks in advance. I would NOT recommend getting the BUELL race pipe and running the bike with the stock ECM. This is the case whether you are running a stock air filter or a more open K&N style air filter. It is just too much air running through the motor for the ECM to compensate...it will run lean which is never good for any motor. I would wait until you can get both or look into getting the stock ECM remapped with DirectLink...I hear that is getting close and you can find out more information from Al or Daves.
