Is it worth it? I'm sorta toying with the idea... From the Chicago area, looks to be a 2 to 3 day trip if broken into manageable ride times (I'm not looking to win any iron butt award). |

Well spidy, joe (another bueller), and i went down last year, but we woosied out and trailered... Make sure if you go to get like a cheap camp site or something. but yeah it is worth a 1st time. I am not sure if i would go again... way too many people and crazy drivers... TONS of kwel bikes though... and Spidy and I got to meet Indian Larry, and Spidy got a pic w/ him so that made his week.... and if you get georgious weather then BIKINIS EVERYONE!!! lol |

If you have never been it is worth it. I have been to a Bike Week and Biketoberfest and personally think Biketoberfest was much better. I lived in Daytona for a year also. Once you've been there it's all the same to me. If I were you (you may have been already) I'd go to Sturgis!!! |

You have to go at least once. It's a right of passage or something. How else are ya going to be able to say, When I was there bla bla. Jeez, by March you have to be crying to see some sun (and skin) anyway. Just do it. |

I wish I could go... I have been to bike week/springbreak in Daytona before, I have family and friends all over Daytona, and I would certainly Love to see the FX races there this year (going to be interesting!).... Those of you that do make it, please take lots of pictures and be sure to share them with us. Try not to get too depressed about the riding there.....only curves are on the track, no hills.....That's why it's a parking/drinking event. |

I attended the 200 last year. I rode down, leaving on Thursday morning at 8:30 am and rode south of Hot'lanta. I spent the nite in a cheap hotel got up and left at 9am arriving in Daytona around 6 pm Friday evening. I got a spot at Spiders campground, 1/2 mile from the track and set up my tent ($13.00 with showers). Had a good dinner in Daytona watching the loonies then hit the sack. Got up and was at the track early to look around, do a free Demo Ride and get my ticket. Watched the 200 and left for home after the race and a late lunch. Made the same return run home to Indiana and didn't see rain until I got 20 miles from home. Great trip and great weather. I have been to going to Daytona since 1982 and the sun is always worth going for! If you have never been, GO! And ride to bike week, you may never get the chance again. I always wanted one of those T shirt's that say's "I Rode My Bike To Trailer Week" |

I'll be there with BadS1, Dyna, Fieryxb and a few others. As for the trailer down, I rode down in the 80's too and also got caught in the snow/ice- NO thanks on 2 wheels. So I have a nice enclosed trailer pulled by a motorhome that I stay in all week. We are all there for one thing, motorcycling..how bout the people from overseas? Are they supposed to ride across the pond??? Anyway I'll start postin this- HOOTERS Daytona- Wed. nite ALL Buellers meet, hang out etc.-See YOU there!! |
