Hey now...its CUV not an SUV.

They are claiming a new class called Crossover Utility Vehicle because they sit a little lower than the SUVs which are usually also on a full frame. Not a car but not a truck either...damn I bought a transvestite vehicle: D

And some out there think Buell is the only company to make up new categories of stuff to fit their products!

No No..its not Chevy claiming this, its actually the car mags & the advertisers. They are throwing all the similar vehicles into the same class. Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda Element, etc.

Im still waiting for another company to join Buell in that "sportfighter" classification.

Not sure if anyone from Milwaukee is meeting up at Hals or not.

Mackay and his brother are, and David (new guy that rode with us at the last meeting), Gerry too if he gets his bike worked issue worked out, as far as I know !!

Me, I'm afraid it's too cold, not saying I won't ride during the day but early morning and late afternoon doesn't sound good !!

I admire Penny and her mom for all the riding in bad weather they do !!

Yeah even though they ride HDs, I think that Kandie and Bobbie qualify as true "Badweather Bikers"

They will be on their way in about an hour, rain most of the way,60 degrees and 20-30 mph winds!

All just to come and see me!

CJ,
What's wrong with Gerry's bike, or are you talking about a different Jerry?
Rode in to work today, bike feels much better with the rear shock adjusted for solo riding instead of tandem/solo. Not bad out this morning weather-wise.

Oh, okay, just checking, thanks. Being on the outside of the group now I tend to loose track of all the who/what/when/where's and such. Maybe next season will be different. Who knows what I'll be riding where when the weather finally breaks in the spring. ; )

Dave - Thanks for the tip on the short-cut around Cuba City.

The ticket was for 40 in a 25. I forgot that 25mph speed zone went for so long. I though it was 35 where I was.

I can't wait for the four-lane to be done. You either, I suppose.

Have good ride on Sunday. It's looking like the best day of the weekend.

It was 44 degrees when I got off work today. It was close to 60 this morning so I rode. The ride home was cold!!! The low tonight is supposed to be 31 and tomorrow night about 39. Call me a fair weather rider but I'm really having second thoughts about going. I just can't see riding that distance when most of the way I'd be riding in 40 degree weather.

John...don't be a butthead. Freeze your arse and get that thing down here for the Slimey Crud Run. Yeah Saturday will be chilly but Sunday will be a walk in heaven. Give it a shot if you can, you know you have some political sympathisers down here. Might not be me, but at least I am open minded! LOL

John, I will play the other side of the experience & tell you to forget it. If its freezing cold, why ride when you are miserable? Plus to be perfectly honest once you get to the final destination there isnt anything going on besides standing around looking at bikes.

If its mid 50's or better & the sun is out then its a nice little ride, but to be cold & miserable & the end product ends up being anticlimatic..no thanks.

Seriously doubt I will going, we have go-karting in Buffalo grove saturday night..our first race is scheduled for 8pm & we have 4 races total. Probably going to be lucky to get home before 1-2am.

Think I will sleep in, watch some football & enjoy the day...in warmth.

Also get everything ready for track day monday

I've got to side with Greg on this one. You guys are still on the other side of the cold front. When it passes through the temperature drops like a rock. You go from 60 to 40 in a couple of hours and it's cold! I know it's going to be nice on Sunday but that won't be until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. With 250 miles to ride I can't wait that long. I would have to leave by 8 am when it's going to be in the upper 30s. That's too freaking cold for me!

Going to get into the upper 60s tomorrow!

The Appleton group may be a little later getting to Madison then first planned.
It's going to be coooolllllddd in the morning so we are going to make a warm up stop in Waupun.
We will be picking up a rider from Elkhart lake there as well.
Should still be at the Starbucks by 10:30-10:45, be out of there by 11:00-11:30 and still make Pine Bluff by 12:00

Only a slight delay, just wanted to let everyone know of our plans.

Must admit that riding in the cold isn't any fun if you are not prepared for it. One of the major problems is the varying degrees of hypothermia. You can fatigue easily and make poor judgments while riding or worse.

Proper clothing and rest stops can help prevent the associated problems. However, if you are not equipped to handle the weather, there is no one in their right mind going to call you a sissy. No sense in becoming a statistic just to prove something.

Just wanted to clear the air on the issue.

Going to be damn cold!!

Good thing is im not riding out there, & we will have the BBQ grill fired up so we can warm up between sessions: D

I have no problems admitting that the older I get the more of a fair weather rider I become. In years past I would ride 33 miles each way to work when the temp was in the 20's....now its a decision if I want to ride to work when its in the upper 50's.

I hear ya! I finally broke down and bought my first piece of electric clothing ( jacket liner).
I was thinking of wiring up the S1W and wearing it under my race leathers!
I rememeber racing at Gateway back in '02 when the high temp during Fridays practice was 28!!!!
Talk about miserable!!!!
