As most of you know '96 Buell S2Ts came from the factory with 5 things that differentiated them from the base model S2s. Taller/wider clip ons, 1" lowering footpeg mounts, dark grey blue frame and wheel paint, narrow panniers and fairing lowers. When I bought mine back in March though, it did not come with fairing lowers or lids for the panniers, and even though I did get the saddlebag bracket and hardware/locks, the PO couldn't find the keys for them. It does have the lowered peg brackets and taller clip ons (though mine are aftermarket WesTek billet pieces, and modified at that) and the dark frame and wheels (which I love). For the ridiculously cheap price my friend sold me the bike, I'm not complaining at all. But almost immediately after I bought the bike, I was on the hunt for the missing pieces. I saw several sets come and go, all just out of my price range or sold before I had a chance at them. Then a couple weeks ago, there was a BadWebber who was selling off his S2T extras because his bike was rear ended (which caused very little damage, as it was just a "bump", but it bent the frame of the bike). I tried to claim his fairing lowers because I was already too late to claim the deep panniers, but he informed me shortly afterward in an email that I was also too late on the lowers. He did tell me that his friend Chris, the shop owner who bought the bike from him, was not planning on using the panniers and lowers that were on the bike, so he gave me Chris's email and I asked Chris about them. To round out this story, he sold me the lowers, panniers, and seat lock for $250 shipped! I'm very happy now :tour. You can see that one of the mounting holes of the right pannier is broken; like I said I have a spare set of inners so I used the good ones to complete the set. I haven't had time to install the lowers yet, but I'm glad to have the bags on there for storage, as well as the aesthetics of beefing up the size of the bike. Oh, and I also picked up Banke shifter as a killer steal on eBay, paid $60 for this $300 shifter . Now that I'm representing almost every color the S2s were factory painted (LOL!), I just have to decide what color I want to paint the bike... (Message edited by phelan on August 25, 2014) |

Update: Lowers on! I had to remove my steering damper for the time being; I'm going to trim the lower so I can fit both but I wanted to put the lowers on during my lunch break today so I took the damper off temporarily. It also touches the Banke shifter a bit so I plan to trim it by the shifter arm as well.

Ross, Congrats, BUT I would ditch the Banke & the Steering dampener !! To trim the lowers would be a shame Parkway blue |

Hey! My old parts get a new home! Nice to see you got those parts from Chris. A bit more Parkway Blue and you will have it. |

Thanks guys. I will be keeping the pieces I trim off in case I change my mind about them later, and I actually plan to (eventually) make a mold from them, so I can make replacements. But I'm not a purist by any means, and Parkway Blue just isn't the color for my plans, as beautiful as it is . I'm actually thinking a Pearl Black, with the American flag Buell logos you used on your RSS Chris . |

Ross I have a set of lowers I remember one had some repairable damage to it, if it is the one you need to modify I would swap you out, I will see which one it is when I get home this afternoon. |
