Since swapping in an EBR ECU with comfort kit logic, I've had the key switch relay flake out on me a couple of times on very warm days. Typically, it will take a nap after the hot bike has sat for a bit (i.e.: refuelling). The first time it happened, I thought it was a fuel pump fuse, but the fuses were all fine. Pulled the relays to swap/reseat them, and ouch! The ignition relay was quite warm, but the key switch relay was scorching!

I swapped in a fresh relay, but I imagine problems will reappear before long, for the relay still runs hot.

I suspect that having the fan running so much pushes those tiny 20A relays over the edge.

This is incentive to install a proper relayed headlight circuit, which will take 55 watts (4.5A) off that circuit. I might even put the fan on an independent relay, but we'll see.

Has anyone else experienced relay problems after the new fan logic?
