Which spark plugs do people recommend to use? Stick with the factory ones or should I change to a different type?

Do the stock spark plugs require gapping or are they pre gapped?

By stock spark plugs I mean the ones that come in the HD packet. Part no. 27794-08.

I like the iridium ones, some people say they don't notice difference, when my bike was stock, i did notice a slight difference, they are supposed to last longer, and cost double the price.

I just got NGK iridium plugs at NAPA. $2.50 for regular NGK, $7.50 for NGK iridiums, so they are expensive. Haven't tried them yet, so I don't have an impression. I did have to adjust the gap slightly. I would check the gap on any new plug.

Al Lighton cautions to be VERY careful if you adjust the gap on iridium plugs. The center electrode is so small it's very easy to bend which is not a good thing.

My '06 has nearly 20k miles on a set of NGK Iridium plugs; bought from American Sport Bike.

Hot or cold (ambient or engine), the engine starts and runs fine; still get 50 MPG consistently.

I use the regular NGK's. 20K on them. Just pulled them the other day and cleaned them up(some light sanding) put'em back in. Bike runs great.
