I want... for my rear turn signals to come on with my brake light (BX9R). That's just the way I want it - I want more light back there for innatentive dumb@sses to have a chance to see. Everyone's first answer is going to be - go get the lighting module for the Sportster that does that. Tried that. It don't work (unless someone has figgured out how to adapt the wiring...). If anyone knows of someone who has figured out how to wire in the Sportster module or know of another after market module that does work, please let me know. Thanks in advance. |

I had a custom full LED light setup made for my XB. The rear signals have amber signals and also have red lights in them for brake and run, and the tail light has two signal arrows in it that activate with the signal; <>. It is way brighter than stock, and much cooler. |

Nice ideas. I like to maintain a not far from stock look on my bikes... Am definately switching to the bright LED's though. Brighter and I like the thought of never having to worry about my taillight(s) being burned out. |

Dresden, How hard was the kit to install? I noticed that it mentioned slight modification to reflector required? Have you noticed any problems with the battery charging with the LED's?!?! Thx |

I have the Heavycycles taillight with integrated turn signals installed on the shop XB9S. It is very nice, VERY bright, not like those wimpy little LED bulb things. When the brake light comes on, you'd better be wearing sunglasses or you'll be squinting big time, they are THAT bright. I had my doubts about the integrated turn signals, but they are bright, and the indicated direction is not ambiguous. The left or right signal is very easy to make out (amber LEDs instead of red), though a clear tail light lens is certainly recommended. I'll have them up on the web site in raw form this week. I'm going to be building them up as full tail light assemblies, ready to just plug right in with clear lenses, soon. And for both XB's and any of the tubers with the single bulb rear (all but S2/S3's). The raw board isn't too difficult to install, but there aren't any hard points in the reflector assy. The PWB is cut to fit the housing, so one just Goops it in around the perimeter. Works pretty well. After that, it's just a matter of crimping connectors to the wires and strain reliefing the pigtail. Joe uses high quality PWB's to make these, not the junk you see on a lot of cheap commercial electronics. And they go through several tests along the way. They are quality products. Al |
