is the fan in the 2006 Ulysses the same as the model year 2008? My 2006 fan is starting to make lots of weird noises and I see a used on on Ebay for an 2008.

Yea, any XB fan will work. It appears they improved the fan design over time- the manufacturer's part number changed several times although I think the Buell P/N remained the same.

Be careful getting used for obvious reasons. These fans are finicky.

I got a new one from Al at American Sport Bike. No questions. Latest and greatest and great service.

The fan on my '06 Uly has made grinding sounds for over 25K miles give or take a couple thousand miles.
Currently 27K plus miles on the bike and the fan "grinds" on.

If you don't have any oil leaks on the valve covers. The fan on your bike is probably going to function for quite a while longer.
