if anyone has a front brake pad pin and retainer for a 99 x1 they would like to sell me please let me know. id rather help a fellow bueller than buy new, PM me. And before someone says to try twinmotorcycles they want almost $60 after shipping. and americansportbike only has the front pin ($5) and no retainer, with a $20 min order. I might have these used in my box o' back-up parts, I can take a look in the morning for you if you want. I'm almost 100% certain I have the pin, when you say retainer are you talking about the spring or the little cap on top of the pin? |

The fact that you have a "box of spare parts" make me jealous :/ by pure coincidence i am going to a motorcycle junk yard to pick up a seat for my cbr. Hondas are in the plenty here. do you know which Honda/model are the same i could easily grab one. and im talking about the clip that goes over the pads and under the pin. not sure if it is absolutely necessary but peace of mind id like to have it. if you have one ill let you know later today if i manage to salvage one at the yard. thanks |

the cycle salvage yard (my only other option) was a miss so badweb is my only resource. |

Well I have the pin and cap, do not have the spring retainer. The Buell part bag I have it in calls is a "Pin Spring Set" and is labeled H0026.F The label seems to indicate you get the spring retainer with the pin, I would have thrown the old spring out, I recall it being pretty nasty, I did clean the old one a few times with a brass brush over its lifespan. Having had my M2 since 2001 I've gathered a small collection of take off and back-up parts. Anyway, if you want the pin PM your address to me and I'll mail it to you, it's used but not pitted or grooved. I think the HD dealer won't be able to get this Buell spec part, but a Buell dealer should be able to get it (the complete "kit") to you in a week or so. American Sport Bike has to go to a HD dealer parts counter for this sort of thing just like we do, so it's a service they offer us, to stock Buell factory parts. If you go with them it would be a good time to pick up some new spark plugs and maybe a filter or two, it's not hard to come up with $20 in gaskets (exhaust, derby cover, that sort of thing) and other misc parts to have on hand. |
