Hi All, I just bought an '08 1125r. Love the bike....it still had the factory air cleaner in it so I installed a new K&N. Bike runs great but i opened up the day after the new air cleaner in and noticed puddles of fuel in the air box. There was enough in there that when I removed the base plate from the bike it poured onto the floor in the shop. I cannot find any leak or other source for this problem. The oil is clean and doesn't smell like gas that I can tell. The bike has 12000mi. on it. I have been riding 150mi. a day on my commute. This happened after one day of riding. Any help is appreciated.

strange. is the gasoline vent tube that straddles the airbox cracked near the outlet (front of bike near fuel filler) or is that area in any way compromised?

nope, the tube is in perfect shape. I did leave the air box cover off for the 150 mi. ride to see how loud it would be.

Are you sure its fuel and not oil?

If the oil level is to high the bike will shoot oil into the airbox.

I had thought of that but the oil level is perfect. I am hoping that this was a fluke and will not happen again. I am installing a carbon canister this weekend and changing the oil just to rule it out completely.

Will be interesting to hear about how much oil comes out of your bike, if your saying oil level is perfect (guessing your just looking on dipstick) I really think there's way too much in there. It's a terrible design.

I just measure out the oil into a jug, pour it in and never check it. Each oil change the same comes back out, doesn't use a drop. I do oil change every 3-4k depending on use.
