Does anybody have a copy of ECM spy that works with windows 7? I have been trying to get mine running with no success. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the program and driver. But ECM spy still does not recognise the ECM. (port not found). Lima, Peru is nice but I don't want to be stuck here indefinately |

I don't have Win7, but "port not found" is probably related to the com port and not ECMSpy itself. When installing the USB drivers and ECMSpy, make sure you have admin rights on the PC. Also, once you start ECMSpy got to the Options menu and select communications... set the port there. On XP, if I right mouse on My Computer go to properties and the Hardware tab.. then open the Device Manager... using that you should see the USB port configuration .. rember the ECMSpy cable is basically making a USB port look like a COMM/serial port. Someone who has successfully installed on Win7 would likely be able to give more specifics about the configuration/installation of the USB drivers. Got it!! Thanks Gamdh. I think the admin part was the issue. Now I have a chance of getting out of here!! |
