Guess this is just another common issue on the 1125. Don't use the rear brake much anyway. Noticed when I went for a ride last weekend the rear brake felt hard so I left it alone. Stopped for gas to make sure it was not locked up and headed out for some fun. When I got back I messed with it and got it locked up good. Piston went in and will not return. Ordered a new MC. Loving the spring weather in Texas! |

I had one lock up, too. It's not the worlds best piece of hardware. |

I had mine lock up last Fall. I ended up replacing every rear brake component as a result. One thing I did notice was the rear brake master cylinder reservior was full to the brim, possibly agravating the problem. I made sure the brake fluid level was lower when I replaced everything. |

Have a look at my earlier posts on this subject, I gave the part number for a Brembo rear m/c which is a direct fit and cheaper (here in the UK) than a Buell OEM part (Message edited by Dirty_john on January 31, 2012) |

Don' forget to order the correct banjo bolt if you go Brembo, the factory line will work. I had a Brembo caliper but I've gone back to the stock caliper. |

When my friend owned my 1125R, he never used the rear brake. He told me never, not even once or twice. It ended up seizing and to overheated the rotor. Buell paid for replacing everything but the calipers (it was rebuilt). I have had mine for 8k miles and one year. I use my rear brake ALL THE TIME. No issues. I do notice every morning the rear brakes are pretty slippery until after the first application. My guess is from the exhaust soot on start up. I wonder if the exhaust soot build up is responsible for seizing up the rear brakes on 1125R's? |

brembo p/n 20516143 seems like 20516171 would be better with regard to bleeder location. (Message edited by smoke4ndmears on January 31, 2012) |
