I just got my XT back from the dealer after being in the shop for a week and a half. I figured I’d have some things that were bugging me looked at right before my warranty ran out. Nothing major, at least they didn’t find anything.

Boy, how I missed my bike. I think it looks better now than ever.

It’s time to service it, add some fuel stabilizer and put it away for the winter. This will be the first year that I’ll put any of my street bikes away for the winter. We’ll see if I make it all the way through the winter without pulling it out for a ride. Especially after missing my bike and feeling the way I did after just a week and a half. Anyone else have the same separation anxiety?

I never "store" mine. Just rotate the battery tender around and keep the tanks full...and continue riding.

Opposite problem here. I store mine (ridden only once a week to keep it fresh) during the brutally hot summer. Unfortunately, the bike is out of commission at the moment, and right on time to miss a ride to the Ozarks I'd been anticipating for six months and all of the beautiful weather we've been having lately.

I feel your pain.

I don't have enough discipline and self control to stay off mine for any more than a few days at a time, no matter what time of the year it is.

I'm weak that way........

One of the biggest advantages to my having moved from Park City Utah to Woodinville WA. In Utah, for four months every winter all I could do is sit on the seat and go "vroom vroom vroom". Here, I can ride all year round if I don't mind getting wet. And I don't.
