so i snapped my original belt at just under 38.9k miles. Broke when I shifted into gear from a standstill leaving work. While waiting for the replacement, I noticed that the old belt rubbed indentions into the engine case around the 12, 3 and 5 o'clock positions. Even the oil line spacer and the neutral sensor connector have rub marks on them... The new belt after 50 miles of use also shows signs of rubbing on the engine case side. I see cords up to 1/2 an inch long along the engine side of the new belt which may have caused the rub marks on the oil line spacer and the neutral sensor... Any ideas? Of course while it's parked, the belt alignment seems fine... |

My 06 Uly did the same thing at 17k after getting off the freeway! Looked like it had been cut with a scalpel. |

Perhaps there is a bit of a "cone" to your belt. Try taking the belt off and flipping it. Perhaps it will walk the other way. Just a thought. |
