I was wondering if there would be any interest in doing RTE (ride to eat) for Buell owners here on our forum. We do them over on the MTF forum. Find out where the interest lays and plan it centrally located. Sometimes you'll have to ride 100-500 miles to get there but it promotes camaraderie and puts faces to names. Gives us some tech time out in the parking lot and share lies with one another. Sometimes it means an overnighter so we'd book a hotel and try to get a group rate. Anyway, I enjoy doing them and would set up the first one |

You must be new here, they have been going on for years. You just missed Buelltoberfest in Georgia, and the Headless Horseman Run in NY. Every spring everyone goes to PA to get burgers and Clemms BBQ. I don't follow what goes on near Texas, but head over to the Storm Fronts section and see what everyone else is done |

I hear that there's a place called the Dinosaur BBQ that might have some good food... |

In the mid 90's we used to do a lot of them in and around Dallas . . . always fun. |

Glad you brought this up pons,I've been thinking of trying to have a weekend uly ride here in the U.P. with a mix of gravel some trails and blacktop This most likely would be in the 1st 2 weeks of august, since that is about the driest time here. I have room for tents in the yard, plus there are a few motels and a casino close by and Brimley state park is 4 miles as the crow flies. There is a lot of gravel back roads around here and you can get to some fairly remote parts of lake superior shore line, old white pine forest and for those more inclined thousands of miles of trails. |

I don't know how many folks on here live near this area, its a place that you travel to, not travel thru, not in the regular traffic lanes. I thought if I could set up alternate routes to the same destinations to suite peoples comfort level in what kind of ridding they would like to do. Every one could leave from here go up to mission hill, point Iroquois light then up to paradise/whitefish point light house and ship wreck museum, then over to Grand Marais and down a nice curvy black top to Munising for lunch. After lunch south to Manistique and then head back east towards Sault Ste.Marie with a stop off at a top secret high speed proving ground. That would be a long day 300+ |

Great pic Rkc00! That must have been a lot of fun. When I ride in a group, I am always the only one on a Buell. The phrase I hear most often is: "Hey, those things are made in Europe, aren't they?". I will admit though, my bike usually draws the most attention from other riders. It would be kind of nice if someone could match up usernames with all those faces, just so we had some idea who everyone is. Thanks for posting! |
