Would someone please post pics of all the ground points on the Uly? I have searched the archives, but the pics have been removed. Just want to make sure I get them all. Thanks, Jon |

Hmmmm.....I don't recall seeing that in the SM separately from the wiring diagrams. The most visited ones are the steering head behind the headlamps, the closest to the battery under the seat, the large cable from the frame to the engine under the air box cover, follow the one from the ECM to ground point and from the fuse panel to it's ground point. I will look for pics/diagram. |

Anytime you have starting problems and a fully charged battery you will want to check your engine grounds, especially the Tie bar link ground under the air box. I am doing an engine rotation and found the fuel pump connector ground pin burnt half way down the pin. All 'dem amps have to go someweheres... Upper right

My Uly starts hard sometimes. I will look into that ground under the air box. |

Swampy - I have updated your post in the Knowledge Vault regarding the type of connectors and pins. |

What do you do with the grounds once you find them? I have had aluminum framed bikes before but they never used the frame as a ground. What about running new grounds and not using the frame? If anything I think the main ground should run directly from the battery to the motor. That's what I did. I ran a heavy wire from the neg batt post to one of the through bolts on the starter. All factory grounds are still in place, there is now an extra one. I had trouble with my fuel pump connection also but caught it fairly early. Took the connection completely apart and squeezed the female ones so they made better contact. No problems since then. |
