There are no free publicly available online copies of the service manuals. There are however scanned pirated copies floating around the web, you can google them but please do not post links here.

Not only that, the scanned ones suck.

Honestly, it's worth the $60 from the dealer for this one. Pisses me off, too, there's not a legitimate way to pay that same $60 to HD and get a licensed PDF.

I'd (and I did) loosen up the wallet and buy all three manuals while you can. It's less than a new tire. That's parts, electric and shop. American Sport Bike and others have them. You may never open them even, but for the bikes sake they should be around. Think about someone trying to get the right information on these a few or more years down the road. It'd be like someone having a early seventies Ducati Sport with all the right books. Or something like that.

Two years.

I'd buy now.

Train's a comin'

And, you are right, the entire complement of manuals, replete with their shortcomings, are less than a tire.

Out of all of them, I feel the parts book is the most valuable, and its the cheapest of the three. I have most of the service stuff memorized from being on here over the years, but the parts book is most valuable when you go to put something back together. The exploded diagrams show you which order to place the parts in, and if you are like me and tear a gasket while hamfisting it backtogether, the part number is on the next page.

I agree.

My "next in line" would be the Electrical Diagnostics" and finally . . the Service Manual.

The saving grace is that they are really good manuals.

There is the manual in use.

Used it again to split the cases.
